Congenital, present at birth; whatever the reason; whether hereditary or not. Congenital anomalies (diseases); It may be genetic, infectious or due to maternal diet. The most serious congenital anomalies are heart diseases, neural tube defects (nervous system) and Down syndrome.
Congenital diseases with structural deformities (defects, defects) are also called “congenital anomalies” and result from developmental defects in the fetus. Substances that cause congenital defects are called teratogens (for example, smoking, certain drugs). Some of these can be detected in prenatal (antenatal) controls. Congenital diseases may occur due to genetic or environmental factors.
